It is that time of the year when people start making plans for the future. When it’s all about creating a „better self“. Probably amongst the most common new year’s resolutions are weight loss and exercising: „New year – new me“. But is that really what should matter right now?
Since you’re reading this: Congratulations on being alive! That’s the greatest gift of all; this year perhaps more than ever before. Thus let’s take a moment to be grateful. I mean, seriously grateful – that is, try and feel the gratitude deep within your heart. Feel the warmth and love spread. Know, you’re alive for a reason. Even if it may not always feel like it, you are loved.
Doubtlessly, 2020 has been challenging in many ways and some experiences may continue to affect us for a long time still. But may we also take a moment to acknowledge the strength and endurance that has been given to us to get through this all. In case you feel tired and exhausted today, that’s how athletes feel after running a marathon. And 2020 certainly has been a marathon of some sort, hasn’t it? But you know what? You made it! See how strong you are? You’re a fighter!
Perhaps some things haven’t turned out as expected, and this may include your body and the way you treated it. But that’s okay because a) we are human, and b) we’ve never been confronted with an usual situation like this. Perhaps it even was one of the things that helped you get through this…?
In any case, this is not the time to blame yourself or to self-loathe. If you want to create something good for yourself in 2021, start with your thoughts. Start with convincing yourself that you are enough just the way you are. Because you’re alive. Because you’re strong. Because you made it through 2020.

Happy New Year and much love from my heart to yours.
